I've been having some problems with my template not saving under Expand Widget Templates in blogger, instead I receive a full page error message. I can save when Expand Widget Templates is un-checked.
A solution.
I've realized the problem is I've added some code to my template that blogger can't save, or produces an error page.
For me the main problem was the Google Analytics code I added to my template, once I removed it everything worked perfectly.
So if your having this same problem, you may want to check out the codes, widgets etc that you've added to your template, the solution may be as simple as a few lines of code.

Never experienced it either. I think it will depend on the template you are using. I had one issue with my template before but after changing the template, everything went well.

It ususally is just a little bit of code that throws you off. I spent an hour this morning looking for one line that was adding this bizarre thing into my site.

This happened to me, except I wasn't able to diagnose it properly and ended up starting a new blogspot. I wish I had done more research into it and maybe I could have gotten around it.

I would say he Google Analytics code causes far more troubles than you can imagine. Once, my SSL code could not work properly until we got other resources to check on visitors.
I had also the same problem and I didn't manage to deal with it. So I just decided to delete this widget.
It is less beautiful but works great.

Didn't really had any problems with Google Analytics, until now. Also, the widget worked fine, but a friend of mine recently recommend I gave up on it and try another one. I'll definitely going to do some research into it. Thx for posting.
